Lies 04:35
Well it's the same old story,
Love, but she's gone all about it wrong,
 Because she's bored and lonely,
She sought the comfort of a man,
From there it turned real ugly,
God knows you can't be desperate. And now you point the finger at me,
That's fine, I can take it,
When it's turned back to cut you through,
Let's see just how you like it. CHORUS It seems she's blaming me for everything,
 Well shame on you,
And if you could learn to see,
You'd change your lies back into truth, Oh no, It's for you,
 Not for me,
 But you could never see,
Just how you choose your lies over me. This give and take becomes a rattled hum,
It drowns us both out,
We'd both be better off if left alone,
 To our own device,
 This rage that builds inside,
Don't let it out, don't let it out, no. And now you bite the hand that feeds,
God damn, well ain't that foolish,
Why can't you leave it gracefully,
Less fire for your bridges. CHORUS So nobody ever told you what this life is for,
Or how to fall in love,
And now you look to me,
Sorry I can't help you there,
I'm just as lost,
 Useless as they come,
So won't you set me free. So don't search for your answers here,
Look to yourself forget all else, you'll see you had it all along. Still... CHORUS
2.
Say It Today 04:07
You’re walking out,
 Ain’t no surprise,
I think I’ve been though this,
Once or twice. It truth it seems,
It’s not for everybody,
We can’t all accept what comes,
Outta my mouth, It's from the heart,
It may be tongue in cheek,
 But don't blame me,
 It's you who can't see.
I'm just one man,
 With only one voice,
Don't put so much faith in me. CHORUS I gotta say it today,
Now take offense to the words,
 Don’t hesitate,
Just write me off as some dumb prick,
But you won't soon forget. The controversy,
It ain’t so bad,
 Put against all the shit,
Of diplomats. And in the end,
Can you tell what’s right or wrong?
I say what it is I mean,
Without worry for you. Or how you’ll take it,
 Sure, you’ll leave disturbed,
 But don’t blame me,
If we don’t agree,
 For all this time,
 I’ve held my tongue,
And now I set it free. CHORUS I gotta say it today,
Can you hear me ok? The truth will hit ya,
 Right in the face,
You’ll know it by the death of your faith. CHORUS x2

Selling Us 04:39
It’s all around now I can’t escape I feel the pressure Is it too late? How much further Can I survive? I feel the pressure But I'm alive (As you can see) As you can see (Despite all the fear) Despite all the fear (One fact remains) We’re still here CHORUS Hey hey hey who's buying Just us slaves all fighting Over wage denying All the lies they keep on telling us Those who keep supplying Make them pay for lying There's no way we're buying All the shit they keep on selling us Now can you feel it? Alive in you The building pressure Behind the truth Your eyes are open And you're awake You feel the pressure It's not too late (All that's been done) All that's been done (One thing is clear) One thing is clear (Although they've tried) We're still here CHORUS I know you're buying man But I ain't for sale You'll have to find yourself another Hey you could join me man I'll tell you a tale I think you'll find I'm like a brother
4.
Always so tired with no motivation, We know it's all wrong well hey that's, The way it is, What can you do? It's not like it's really all that bad. How can we give up all our shit? Now that we feel a part of it. We push it to the brink, And when you stop to think, We know it isn't wise, Our health is compromised, So baby get ready, There's no more going steady, We've seen it all coming and when, You break it down, We are the problem. Always so concerned over shit that don't matter, We're driving ourselves insane now, Whose got the money? Whose got the time? Just give me someone to blame now. How can we think now for ourselves? So long have we let someone else. We push it to the brink, And when you stop to think, We know it isn't wise, Our health is compromised, So baby get ready, There's no more going steady, We've seen it all coming and when, You break it down, We are the problem. We're out looking for someone to blame... So baby get ready, There's no more going steady, We've seen it all coming and when, You break it down... We're out looking for someone to blame… (Who has time?)

Clueless 03:37
Yeah I know what you've been thinking,
Your satisfaction is a little out of reach,
And it's not hard to see,
How thrilled you be,
 With a little guarantee,
Of all you seem to think it is you deserve,
But I can tell you don't deserve a thing,
Oh no. From the outside looking in,
Not a flaw in sight, you've got it well concealed,
 Figured I would come along,
 Chip away at the armour,
Peel it back piece by piece,
Rip it off hoping to find where this real bitch keeps her peace,
Just to find there's nothing underneath. CHORUS All I ever really knew,
I could never quite get through to you,
All I ever had to say,
There's got to be some better way,
You've got expectations what a man ought to be, I've got nothing left to prove,
So all I ever really knew,
Is we don't have a clue. Hit the town of the street in the night,
 When you look this fine,
You can do as you please,
And who wouldn't pay a little attention,
 But for a little action,
This kind of girl comes with a fee,
But the price to play may be a little steep for your average Joe,
Let me tell you cause I've been there before. CHORUS Now we find her as she sits alone,
 Well what do you know,
 She hasn't got there yet,
Just maybe we've all become wise,
To her clever disguise,
So a higher standard was set,
Now it's you who plays the fool,
In our game we set the rules, And you tell me that life is cruel,
And you say it’ll fuck you too,
So how the hell can we get a clue?

Dirty 04:41
When I'm hurtin' this hard, I don't look too far,
 Just a local bar,
That's all I need. From across the room, I'll feel a vibe from you,
That we'll be leaving here soon, Just wait and see. Oh The play and the tease,
It could go on for weeks, but I'll do as I please,
I'll make you beg. Oh The way you look in that dress, Is makin' a mess,
Of my mind and my life,
Look what ya did. CHORUS And I know that you can't get there on your own, so I'm here to show you the way,
And you know that I won't let you leave alone, If you tried I'd make you pay. Cause you're a dirty little girl And I'm a dirty old man We'll make it dirty, Ohh
 We'll make it dirty, Yeah.
We're gonna take over the world
It's all part of the plan
 We'll make it dirty, Ohh
We'll make it dirty,Yeah
We'll make it dirty. Well I guess I needed,
To see you near death,
Cause you look so fine,
There on the ground. You moan and you sigh,
With that look in your eyes, We could go all night,
Just rockin' down. Now we get it up, Feeling more fucked up,
 Baby drink it up,
And up. Now you're screaming for more,
Deep down to your core, You're a bit of a whore,
But that's all right. CHORUS I know I can get it right, oh yeah Just give me a chance I could be the dirty one for you.

about

I was talking to a fellow musician back in the summer of 2012, and told him I'd send him some of my demos. He simply replied, "Demos? Who makes demos? You still make demos?"

Well, yeah…

These 6 tracks were written over various points of the past 3 years and all were self-produced sporadically in 2013. At some point, they'll likely be re-recorded, and in some cases, re-written (Clueless, Dirty). As long as I'm improving as a musician and audio producer, everything will remain a demo.

In the mean time, enjoy them freely! 2014 is looking like it will be an exciting year for Eight Litres, so check back now and then for new songs.
